Chances for Cultural and Citizenship Education in the Context of the Development of Cities and Urban Spaces

This year's NECE conference refers to dramatic changes in European cities: Migration and mobility reduce the cohesion within many urban societies. Cities have become complex entities in which ethnic, social and cultural segregated communities have developed.
Cultural and citizenship education have to reposition themselves, since forms of participation and development opportunities become existential issues in cities.
The conference will discuss challenges of current urban developments from an interdisciplinary perspective and determine opportunities of cultural and citizenship education in the context of urban development.
